Change Your Tune at the Touch of a Dial
Inspired by both Mozart and a children’s toy at IKEA, Masatoshi Hamanaka and his team developed “Melody Slot Machine,” a device able to generate unique melodies at the touch of a dial, and presented their creation at SIGGRAPH 2019.

With the conclusion of another SIGGRAPH conference brings a new season — awards season. One team of SIGGRAPH presenters, made up of Everett Burrell and Chris White (Weta Digital), received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for season one of Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy.”
