The 2019 ACM Turing Award: Celebrating SIGGRAPH and Computer Graphics Achievements
On March 18, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) announced that Edwin E. (Ed) Catmull and Patrick M. (Pat) Hanrahan had jointly received the 2019 ACM A.M. Turing Award for their respective fundamental contributions to 3D computer graphics and the revolutionary impact of these techniques on computer-generated imagery (CGI) in filmmaking and other applications.
