1. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?
I am a production assistant for Voyage Productions! I work in different medias ranging from motion graphics and 3D Animation.
2. What was your first job?
I have been with Voyage Productions for a year now!
3. Where did you complete your formal education?
I graduated with a B.S in computer science at Middle Tennessee State University!
4. How did you first get involved with ACM SIGGRAPH?
It started when I was a student volunteer at SIGGRAPH 2022, after that I felt in love with it ever since! I found it a great opportunity to connect and especially learn!
5. What is your favorite memory of a SIGGRAPH conference?
It had to be when I was a team leader for the Student Volunteer program at SIGGRAPH 2023. I was leading my team of student volunteers to their area when I heard a kid crying next to his mother. I was surprised as I thought, this was the first kid I saw that was actually attending the conference! I went up to him and asked what was wrong. He said he was upset that he wasn’t able to get in a session since it was full! I was surprised as he was only 10. He was more mature than I was at that age! To at least, make it up to him, I gave him a nice keychain I got from one of the booths and it cheered him up. It was a special moment for me and showed me that any one can enjoy SIGGRAPH!
6. Describe a project that you would like to share with the ACM SIGGRAPH community.
Currently I am working on a neat idea I have which involves combing my motion graphic skills and my 3D skills! I like to make creative videos! Stay tune for that!
7. If you could have dinner with one living or non-living person, who would it be and why?
It would 100% be my partner, Heidi! She’s as creative and smart as I am! We’re a team and the best team I could ask for.
But if I had a second choice, it would be her and every single person I have met that made an impact in my life! Which would be a huge fest, honestly.
8. What is something most people don’t know about you?
I have a twin! His name is Steven! I tend to forget to tell people that since I’m use to calling him just my super brother!
9. From which single individual have you learned the most in your life? What did they teach you?
It would have to be my baseball coach back in High School, Micheal Colvin. I would like to thank him for the person whom I have become now.
He was like a father figure to me, he taught me the essence of hard work and failure! And my love for baseball.
I couldn’t have accomplished half of the things I have done without following his wise wisdom!
10. Is there someone in particular who has influenced your decision to work with ACM SIGGRAPH?
Yes, it would have to be Kevin McNulty, he’s my professor and a good friend of mine at Middle Tennessee State University, MTSU.
He is heavily involved in SIGGRAPH. He’s someone I respect given the work he has done. So to pay back the favor, I want to continue working with SIGGRAPH to share the love and passion that Kevin has showed me.
11. What can you point to in your career as your proudest moment?
Honestly, getting my first job. It has been a journey. But I think this job is the beginning point of the road where my next chapter goes!
I am grateful for the job as it gave me confidence in what I do. Thanks to my boss/mentor Kelsey Hoggard.
