Nominations Committee

The Nominations Committee oversees ACM SIGGRAPH committee chair nominations. The mission of the Nominations Committee is two-fold:

  • Assemble the slate of candidates for the annual elections to the Executive Committee
  • Recommend candidates for the chairs of the Standing Committees.

Nominations Process & Timeline

All candidates are interviewed by the Nominations Committee. Only applicants who are ACM SIGGRAPH members in good standing will be considered.

Standing Committee Elections

  • Starting February 15: The Nominations Committee begins interviews with nominated candidates.
  • By March 15 (or until filled): The Nominations Committee recommends Standing Committee chair candidates to the ACM Executive Committee.
  • After April 1: New Standing Committee chairs are announced.
  • September 1: Appointed Standing Committee chairs begin their 3-year term on the Executive Committee.

Executive Committee Elections

  • Ongoing: Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis and will be accepted until February 1 for elections in June. Nominations received after February 1 will be considered for the following year’s election cycle.
  • Starting October 1: The Nominations Committee begins interviews with nominated candidates.
  • Early March: The Nominations Committee submits a slate of candidates to ACM.
  • Early June: Ballots are distributed, and voting begins.
  • Mid-August: Election results are announced.
  • September 1: Elected members begin their 3-year term on the Executive Committee.

Call for Nominations

The ACM SIGGRAPH Nominations Committee is currently accepting nominations for the following leadership roles.  Please note that these positions may change based on changes to the strategic priorities for the organization.
  • Awards Committee Chair. The chair manages the logistics for the award committees, award announcements and award ceremonies at conferences. The chair also facilitates the nomination of ACM SIGGRAPH members for ACM awards.
  • Early Career Development Chair. The chair provides the strategic vision and operational leadership for ACM SIGGRAPH’s year-round programs supporting our future leaders.
  • External Relations Chair. The chair establishes and oversees ACM SIGGRAPH’s agreements with numerous organizations and conferences around the world.
  • Specialized Conferences Committee Chair. The chair provides operational and strategic support to the focused conferences, workshops, and other symposia that ACM SIGGRAPH sponsors around the world.
