The deadline for SIGGRAPH 2004 Student Volunteer applications was 25 February.
SIGGRAPH 2004 represents the largest and most diverse community of academics, industry professionals, and artists in computer graphics and interactive techniques. The Student Volunteers of today are the SIGGRAPH leaders of tomorrow.
The Student Volunteers program offers selected students the opportunity to become an integral part of the annual SIGGRAPH conference. This invaluable learning experience presents opportunities to meet and learn directly from computer graphics industry professionals, teachers, and artists. Simultaneously, Student Volunteers assist conference attendees and support conference programs and events. SIGGRAPH 2004 Student Volunteers will also have program-specific courses in computer graphics career building and, of course, admission to all programs, receptions, and many special events.
All this and more is available to high school, undergraduate, and graduate
students who are enrolled full time for at least one semester during the
2003-2004 school year and are at least 18 years of age. As a volunteer,
you'll be part of a team of hundreds working to make the conference a
success. Students can apply to work either 17.5 or 30 hours during the
conference. Volunteers from outside the Los Angeles area who are willing to
work at least 30 hours can also receive complimentary housing in Los
Angeles for the week. In addition, all applicants are eligible to apply for
our Travel Grant program, which offers financial assistance to accepted
Student Volunteers to offset the costs of travel to and from the
conference.
We are looking for reliable, hard-working, self-starting, independent,
enthusiastic students who are excited about SIGGRAPH 2004 and want to be a
part of the next generation of industry leaders. Become a part of the
largest and most diverse community in computer graphics and interactive
techniques, and at the same time work and explore at one of the greatest
professional conferences in the world. I look forward to welcoming you to
Los Angeles and hope you'll join us for a whole new Student Volunteer
experience at SIGGRAPH 2004!
