Singapore, 10 January 2008 - ACM SIGGRAPH (Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics), the world's largest computer graphics society, has chosen Singapore as the first non-North American venue for a SIGGRAPH conference.

SIGGRAPH Asia, 2008 scheduled for 10 - 13 December, is slated as an annual event with Singapore being the first in a series of Asian cities that will play host to professionals and exhibitors with vested interest in the fields of computer graphics and interactive techniques.

With an anticipated 6,000 participants and some 80 exhibiting companies and country pavilions showcasing products and services relevant to this industry, SIGGRAPH Asia will be a vital destination for delegates from all over the world to experience the latest in computer graphics and interactive solutions.

To ensure the relevance and success of SIGGRAPH Asia's debut, the committee behind this event is composed of internationally reputable industry luminaries such as Dr. Alyn Rockwood, vice president of ACM SIGGRAPH, and Dr. Lee Yong Tsui, an associate professor at the Nanyang Technological University's School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
