Pathfinder mentors will be asked a myriad of questions during their time in the Pathfinders booth, so the more you know about the conference (and previous conferences), the better. However, don't let that intimidate you! Pathfinders volunteers also bring their own perspectives and life experiences to the booth with them, so you can help with what you can, and don't be afraid to ask another volunteer if you don't know an answer.

You should enjoy talking to other people, because that's really the whole point! You may get many short questions, or wind up talking to a small group for an hour. It really depends on who stops by and what kind of guidance they need. The web sign-up form will ask you for information about yourself, specifically keywords for areas you are more comfortable with. We're going to try to publish that so people will know when to come to the booth to talk to you about shared interests. Don't worry if you aren't an expert on the whole conference. Nobody is.

Would you be willing to spend an hour or two to share your sense of what SIGGRAPH 2006 has to offer? Let us help you share your experiences with others. Share the legacy. Be a part of Pathfinders. Your time and knowledge will be greatly appreciated.
