Review & Upon Acceptance
for the Studio will be selected by a combination of
factors: degree of innovation, technical feasibility,
accessibility to Studio attendees, and budgetary factors.
All investigators who have submitted a project or portfolio
for review will receive an acknowledgment of receipt
and, upon acceptance, final instructions for bringing
the work to San Antonio.
All submissions will be judged by a panel of jurors.
Proposals will be reviewed shortly after the submission
deadline, and notification of acceptance will be sent
in early March. Working Artists may also be invited
by the chairs of the Art Gallery and The Studio.
Studio Project investigators (technologists, artists,
educators) must arrive at SIGGRAPH 2002 on Friday, 19
July to install or supervise installation of their projects
and/or the necessary hardware and software to ensure
that their projects are fully operational and staffed
by noon on Sunday, 21 July.
Shipping and Insurance
Please note that SIGGRAPH 2002 cannot be responsible
for shipping charges. Project investigators will be
responsible for shipping and insuring their technology
while in transit. SIGGRAPH 2002 will insure your project
after it arrives at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention
Center and will continue to insure it until it is shipped
off the premises.
Relationship to the Art Gallery
The Studio enjoys a special relationship to the Art
Gallery. Artists will be invited to create work in the
Studio for display in the Art Gallery. The jurying process,
conducted by representatives of both the Studio and
the Art Gallery, will be based on a portfolio of work
submitted by potential Studio artists. See Submission
Procedure Checklist for complete information.
