Project Details

"Lewis is a close to human-sized robot capable of moving through a crowded room taking pictures of people. His role is much like that of a photographer at a wedding - he wanders through the crowd looking for 'good pictures,' and taking them. The best of these pictures are accumulated into a photo album that guests can browse through at a nearby workstation. Guests can also select pictures that they like, and have them printed out."

Lewis navigates freely within the constrained area of the exhibit. He can respond to dynamic challenges (people obstructions) while developing interesting angles for pictures. Picture composition is controlled by a low-level face finding and composition algorithms. Attendees can view and manipulate their images before printing them out on the design workstation.
