Project Details
- This project explores the utility of physical immersion and multisensory perception to enhance science education.
- ScienceSpace enables learners to experience "difficult to teach" science phenomena (such as relativity and quantum mechanics) to support an instinctive, qualitative understanding as a motivation and basis for future study. ScienceSpace currently consists of three worlds that address Newtonian mechanics, electrostatics, and molecular structure.
- Objectives of Project ScienceSpace include:
- - investigating whether sensorially immersive, constructivist learning can remediate typical misconceptions in mental models of reality held by many students
- - studying whether mastery of traditionally difficult subjects is enhanced through learning-by-doing
Sight
- visualization graphics workstations
