Project Details
- In an alternative approach to time consuming, manual virtual environment creation, the system presented allows users to create different colors and shapes of virtual objects in 3D spaces by direct manipulation.
- Using a proprietary, multiple-camera-based hand posture estimation method in which palm poses are interpreted by a statistical approach (regardless of finger bending), the hand gestures associated with commands for direct manipulation are recognized and executed.
- This technique allows direct manipulation of the virtual construction world without use of participating sensor devices attached to the participant.
