Project Details
- "Spirits of the Bayou" is a virtual environment where human-directed avatars and computer controlled agents interact with each other in real time.
- They are developed and controlled by behaviors specified through the IMPROV system. Using procedural animation, behavioral scripting techniques, and multi-modal interaction paradigms (such as speech and gesture recognition), the system supports collaborative development over a number of standard Internet protocols.
- Research continues on the development of more complex and autonomous virtual avatars and agents.
