Project Details
- This presentation is a new concept in unencumbered VR interfaces involving visual and haptic feedback for manipulations of a virtual world.
- The demonstration integrates a large-projection screen (virtual world window) with a robot arm with attached LCD video monitor as a localized viewport into the VR world. Using physical, visual, and audio cues, users can more easily achieve manipulation goals than an unconstrained manipulator.
- For the scenario exercise presented, a traditional tracked dataglove interface is also presented to compare both ease of use and learning curve.
