Project Details
- "These 'digital sculptures' draw upon recent advances in 3D laser digitizing and rapid prototyping technology."
- Using an SGI graphics workstation, surface scan geometry is evaluated by custom software before translation by a computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machine.
- The artist's current work involves integrating diverse human body representations (CT scans, MRI images, ultrasound, stereophotogrammetry, etc.) using digital mapping techniques and stereo-lithographic rapid prototyping.
