Project Details
- NPSNET and AFIT-HOTAS are a demonstration of heterogeneous simulation projects interoperating over a common communications protocol. Both are multi-player, realtime 3D simulation systems.
- The demonstration consists of six networked nodes using a variety of paradigms - BOOM, head-mounted display, LCD shutter glasses, and workstation/spaceball. Attendees interact with other attendees and autonomous agents in a complete 25x25 kilometer terrain model.
- This collaborative project not only explores the extensibility of independent simulation environments, it also contrasts the different social interactions of participants using different paradigms in a common virtual world.
