Project Details

KA-O-RI is a realtime virtual actress demonstration to explore the potential of interaction between realistic synthetic actors and real people.

The model was created to be as realistic as possible (based upon photo texture maps of a real person). Using proprietary lip-synchronization software, the actress speaks procedurally based upon a real actress's voice. An additional operator can control performance features such as eye contact, head movement, or expressions via dial/button input to the controlling software.

The trial was intended to further understand the potential of virtual actors in a future play or entertainment scenario.
