Project Details

A physical cue ball and pool cue act as the gestural interface for a pool table simulation.

Using a physical ball and pool cue, trajectory information is computed from sensed locations of the ball in the base of the video game.

The desire is to pass more dimensions of physical information down into an electronic universe. Hence, a gestural interface creates a natural conduit to smooth the illusion of ball trajectories into a video screen presentation. Design of such games allow gaming facilities to host a pool table in much less space.
