Project Details
- NPSNET is a multi-player, realtime, 3D visual simulation system capable of displaying vehicle movement over the ground or in the air.
- The system displays a variety of on-ground cultural features (roads, buildings, soil types, elevations) and allows for vehicle control with a six-degree-of-freedom spaceball or button/dialbox. Over 500 vehicles can be in interactive motion simultaneously. SGI IRIS workstations provide the rendering power for realtime interaction.
- The architecture is intended for a broad range of training, planning, and gaming applications across low-compute-cost networked simulations.
