Panels Subcommittee: Special Sessions Coordinator
Overview
A Special Sessions Coordinator will be appointed if deemed necessary by the Panels Chair in consultation with the Conference Chair. The Special Sessions Coordinator is responsible for the planning, selection process, and implementation of special sessions as part of the annual conference Panels program. The Special Sessions Coordinator works closely with the Panels Chair, the Chief Staff Executive (CSE), Conference Advisory Group, volunteers, and contractors.

- participated in past SIGGRAPH Panels as a contributor, juror and/or subcommittee member.
Specific Responsibilities
The following list is a "high-level" view of the specific responsibilities associated with serving on the Panels subcommittee as the Special Sessions Coordinator. The list is organized under general categories of responsibility.
Strategic
- Work with Conference Advisory Group (CAG), Marketing and Media contractor, and conference committee to develop strategic Special Sessions for presentation at the SIGGRAPH Conference
Management
- Solicit Special Sessions of specific topics from the community
- Implement Special Sessions scheduling and logistics within the Panels program
- Work with contractors to ensure on-site presentation facilities are appropriate
- Manage the on-site presentation of Special Sessions
Financial
- In conjunction with the Panels Chair, manage the allocation for Special Sessions
Communication
- Report regularly to the Panels Chair, and Conference Chair and CSE as needed
- Provide a final report to the Panels Chair documenting the work that was done to produce the Special Sessions no later than one month after the conference.
