Outreach Subcommittee
Overview
The areas described below have been
part of various SIGGRAPH Outreach activities. The Outreach subcommittee may
cover some or all of these areas.
Technology
The SIGGRAPH Technology subchair
is responsible for the planning and implementation of the annual conference
technology outreach effort. This subchair works closely with the Outreach Chair
and as necessary, other Program Chairs to target strategic areas, promote participation
by underrepresented industries, and encourage submission to other SIGGRAPH conference
programs.
Recommended Qualifications

outreach outside of SIGGRAPH

Outreach
The SIGGRAPH Community
Outreach subchair is responsible for the planning and implementation of an effective
program to create meaningful partnerships within the conference city. This subchair
works closely with the Outreach Chair, Conference Administration, volunteers,
and contractors to promote the conference within the conference city.

Pathfinders
The SIGGRAPH Pathfinders subchair
is responsible for the planning and implementation of an effective program to
assist new attendees with navigation and understanding of the SIGGRAPH Conference.
This subchair works closely with the Outreach Chair, Conference Administration,
volunteers, and contractors to promote the conference and create a meaningful
understanding with new attendees concerning SIGGRAPH and computer graphics and
interactive techniques in general.
Recommended Qualifications

- several years experience with
the conference
- strong people skills; able to
communicate with all cultures and levels of attendees
- background in human resource relations
and/or management
- knowledge of the needs of the
current job market

sigKIDS
The SIGGRAPH sigKIDS subchair is
responsible for the planning, selection process, and implementation of the
annual conference sigKIDS program. Note that this program has appeared
in various forms in the past. This subchair works closely with the Outreach
Chair, volunteers, and contractors to produce an interesting and
successful program.
