SIGGRAPH 99 Seeks Submissions for Conference Programs

SIGGRAPH 99, the 26th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive techniques, is seeking contributors whose work showcases the best of the international graphics community today and defines the future of the technology into the next century. More than 50,000 are expected to attend the conference and exhibition scheduled for 8-13 August at the Los Angeles Convention Center in southern California.
 
SIGGRAPH's traditional Papers, Panels and Courses programs are calling for contributions to the world's premier forum for computer graphics research and technical innovation. Other programs including Sketches & Applications, the Electronic Schoolhouse: Educators Program | sigKIDS | Community Outreach, the Computer Animation Festival, Art Gallery: technOasis, Emerging Technologies: The Millennium Motel, and the Technical Slide Set, also are looking for submissions that capture the impact and influence that computer graphics and interactive techniques has on today's global marketplace.
 
"Computer graphics is an enabling, engaging technology. SIGGRAPH 99 is supplying the stage for scientists, educators, researchers, and pioneers alike to present their breakthroughs and jumpstart the next generation of computer graphics innovation," said Warren Waggenspack, Louisiana State University professor and SIGGRAPH 99 Conference Chair. "I encourage anyone that has a vision of the future of this technology and of the industry to submit to SIGGRAPH 99."
 
Contributors should take note that, for the first time, all programs require online delivery of at least part of their submission. In addition many SIGGRAPH 99 programs are offering the opportunity for Early Feedback on contributor ideas and concepts. Simply submit a draft on or before 7 October 1998 and comments or guidance on proposals will be provided by the committee in time for the final proposal deadlines.
