The SAM-450 system is designed for high bandwidth applications that require real-time scientific processing combining powerful DSP with a single shared-access memory that can be quickly accessed by I/O ports and processors. C language application programs are executed by a 500-MHz scalar processor which controls I/O devices and scientific coprocessors via simple function calls.
