Submitted Version
In English, label both the videotape and its container with the contact person's name, affiliation, address, telephone number, title of piece(s), running order (if appropriate), runtime(s), and timecode(s).
Final Version (Film, Video, and In-Between entries only)
Credits must be no longer than seven seconds. Additional credit information can be published in a conference publication. Final versions that differ significantly from jury-accepted versions will not be shown.
Optional Slides
Slides are not required or juried, but they must be submitted with the entry if you wish an image to appear in the appropriate conference publication. To submit: send five copies of one 35mm slide (or, if stereo, five pairs labeled LEFT and RIGHT). In English, indicate TOP/FRONT and print the contact person's name and telephone number on the slide mounts. Do not use glass mounts, as they may break in transit.
Shipping
If you have questions regarding the safe arrival of your entry, please contact the shipper. We will not track shipment of your entry. Submitters located outside of Canada should note that customs delays of up to two weeks can occur. Customs labels should bear the words: "Educational material with no commercial value." SIGGRAPH 98 will not pay any custom fees, duties or tariffs incurred by your submission.
Authorization
Permission to Use Visual and Audio:I grant non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide rights to ACM SIGGRAPH to present at SIGGRAPH 98 the above-referenced material and associated visuals, including slides, video, and film (the "materials"). In the event that such materials contain the work of other individuals or organizations including any copyrighted musical compositions or excerpts thereof, I understand that it is my responsibility to secure any necessary permissions and/or licenses, and I will hold ACM SIGGRAPH and its affiliates harmless for any failure to do so. I have secured (or will secure prior to performance) small performing rights licenses for the public performance of any copyrighted musical composition. I have secured (or will secure prior to performance) synchronization licenses for the inclusion of any copyrighted musical compositions in film, video, or multimedia presentations.

I understand that this means that such materials, in their original forms and/or modified forms, may be incorporated in any and all media, including, without limitation, posters, brochures, coffee mugs or other merchandise, computer software, online computer services, and any and all other mechanical or electronic means, methods, or devices now known or hereafter created, in connection with such promotion and publicity. In exchange, ACM SIGGRAPH provides full author/artist attribution on all promotional material.
If I believe that ACM SIGGRAPH has unreasonably modified my submission to change the character and expression of my submission, I agree that my sole and exclusive remedy against ACM SIGGRAPH shall be to send notice to SIGGRAPH requesting that it discontinue that particular use. Upon receipt of such notice, ACM SIGGRAPH will discontinue such use, provided that ACM SIGGRAPH may continue such use with respect to copies of promotional articles remaining in inventory or on order, media already purchased and the like, as of the date of notice.

SIGGRAPH 98 reserves the right to record video and audio of presentations for internal use and as an archival record of the current conference. In the event your session is recorded, ACM SIGGRAPH would like permission to use the video for promotional and educational purposes; speakers will receive full credit whenever the video is used.

Statement of Purpose: The SIGGRAPH 98 Computer Animation Festival Submission Form explains the uses SIGGRAPH makes of presented material and requires you to acknowledge that you have permission to use this material. This may involve seeking clearance from your employer or from others who have loaned you material, such as videotapes and slides. This form helps prevent situations whereby SIGGRAPH 98 presentations include material without permission that might lead to complaints or even legal action. SIGGRAPH 98 Computer Animation Festival organizers and participants must complete, sign, and return the form to the Computer Animation Festival chair as a condition of acceptance for participation in the program. In addition, this form asks if ACM SIGGRAPH may use your materials for conference and organization promotional material in exchange for full author/artist credit information. |
