  
 
The Exhibition
The SIGGRAPH 97 exhibition was the largest in SIGGRAPH's history, with more
than 350 companies exhibiting in 182,600 square feet of exhibit space.
Many new products were announced and put on display for the first time at
SIGGRAPH 97. Because attendee surveys indicate substantial interest in
having more time to spend on the exhibit floor, SIGGRAPH 97 extended
the Exhibition hours to 5 pm on Thursday. The new hours were 10 am - 6 pm
on Tuesday and Wednesday, 5-6 August; and 10 am - 5 pm on Thursday, 7
August.
Startup Park, products and services from the companies that could dominate
the Exhibition in 2002, was also featured on the exhibit floor. "Startup
Park gives attendees the opportunity to see emerging companies that are
debuting the latest technology," said G. Scott Owen, SIGGRAPH 97 Chair.
"This area offers innovative suppliers of the latest products and services
an easy entry into the ever-expanding computer graphics marketplace."
