The purpose of the Job Fair was to allow organizations to meet potential employees in an informal setting. The Job Fair also gave job seekers the opportunity to learn more about potential employers and the opportunities available. It was not an extension of the exhibit floor. The focus was on sharing information between organizations and job seekers.
During the Job Fair, members of the SIGGRAPH 97 Committee and other volunteers were available to discuss the current job situation in the computer graphics industry, job descriptions and responsiblities, and how to approach prospective employers.
Who Was Eligible to Participate
Any organization that wanted to meet one-on-one with SIGGRAPH 97 attendees and completed the application and returned it, with payment, to the SIGGRAPH 97 lock box.
Job Fair Tabletops
Job Fair tabletops were available for $US 500 to both exhibiting and non-exhibiting companies. This fee included participation in the Job Fair, one 8-foot skirted table, two chairs, wastebasket, an easel-back company identification sign, and one electrical outlet. This fee did not include access to the Career Center.
Space was assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
