Exhibitor Service Center
The services provided by the official service contractors for SIGGRAPH 2011 are represented in the exhibitor service center.
A first aid station is located in the convention center. The first aid station is in operation during the entire installation, operating, and dismantling periods.
Food and Beverage Dispensing
No food or beverage may be brought in without the proper consent. Popcorn may not be distributed. There is an exclusive food and beverage supplier in the convention center. Refer to Catering under Official Service Contractors. Exhibitors wishing to hand out food and beverage samples should contact the Vancouver Convention Centre’s catering department.
Exhibitors are urged to provide insurance coverage protecting against damage, loss, or theft. Contact your insurance company or agent and request that this type of coverage be made available to you during SIGGRAPH 2011. The cost is low when added as a rider to your current policy.
Lighting in the Exhibit Hall
Lighting levels in the exhibition will be low and will be set during the installation period. If you require a particular amount of light, you will want to supply your own lighting in the event that the overhead lighting is not sufficient, or plan to obstruct the light if your presentation is light sensitive. Depending on the overhead lighting pattern at the convention center, you may or may not have direct overhead lights. If you require less lighting above your booth, you may request that the lights be turned out directly above your booth.
NOTE: All lighting changes requested through the Vancouver Convention Centre will incur a fee, and exhibitors will be responsible for changes to lighting. This request must go through the Vancouver Convention Centre. All requests must be approved by Exhibition Management and the Vancouver Convention Centre before any lights are turned off. Requests for turning off additional lights will only be approved if the decreased lighting will not significantly impact lighting of the aisles or other booths. Please have an alternate plan for your exhibit in the event that additional lights cannot be removed over your booth or if you require more light than the low lighting levels provide.
Each year, the SIGGRAPH Media Team works to pitch stories and content to local and national news outlets. Occasionally, these outlets cover the conference and exhibition with live "stand-ups". If you would like to be considered to have your booth profiled, send a brief description of your booth, and why it would generate media interest, to Exhibition Management. Booths showcasing interactive technology where the reporter can physically experience the product or technology live are most likely to be selected.
Exhibitors are not permitted to hold a competing media event against the SIGGRAPH Media Briefing scheduled for Tuesday, 9 August, 8:15 am – 9 am. SIGGRAPH 2011 is looking to feature select exhibitors in the Media Briefing. If you are planning a major announcement at SIGGRAPH 2011, and you are interested in having your announcement/release info available at Tuesday morning's Media Briefing, please email your announcement details to Marcia Daudelin.
Exhibitors are asked to inform the SIGGRAPH media relations staff of all media receptions, briefings, and events, in order to provide the media with up-to-date information about your media-related activities. This will also enable exhibitors to avoid conflicts with other competing briefings since the public relations staff will maintain a master schedule. Please fax (+1.312.673.6707) or email all confirmed events to Marcia Daudelin so her staff can answer media inquiries. Invitation-only events will not be posted, but will be used as reference to assist editors who request information with the time/date/location of your media event.
Media headquarters is located in the convention center, West Building Room 201. A message board is located in the media headquarters to communicate with media registrants. Exhibitors are permitted to leave promotional kits in the Media Lounge. Marcia Daudelin can be reached at +1.312.673.4818 on all matters relating to the media room operation, media events, and publicity.
An electronic list with names, addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses (if provided) of the pre-registered media will be available after 8 July. Email your request for the pre-registered Media List to Exhibition Management.
Media Tour & Media Briefing
Following the SIGGRAPH 2011 Media Briefing scheduled at 8:15 am on Tuesday, the exhibits will open to the media at approximately 9 am. Each editor will be given a list of exhibitors who have expressed interest in talking privately with the media before the show floor officially opens. This list will also contain a brief summary of your company as well as the contact person for your booth. To be included on the Media Tour, complete and return the Media Tour Request Form. by 15 July.
