Head-Mounted Photometric Performance Capture
This talk shows how real-time photometric stereo can be used to obtain more accurate facial motion and geometry from head-mounted camera rigs.
Dynamic Luminance Correction for Colored Surfaces
A luminance-correction technique that adapts to a dynamic change of target surfaces without any complex prior measurements of the target's color and reflectance properties.
A Laser-Based System for Through-the-Screen Collaboration
This novel system uses a laser-based rear-projection display on a holographic diffusing screen to support remote collaboration over shared media. It allows for natural eye contact through the screen, as well as accurate communication of gaze and gestures with respect to the shared content.
A Spatial Workbench for Physically Based Sound
This talk shows how toembed physically based sound models in a spatial, interactive, multi-modal context to make a workbench for exploring new musical ideas. Instruments made with the workbench are physically plausible but may go beyond the physical to do things that are impossible or difficult in the real world.
