Acquisition and Analysis of Bispectral Bidirectional Reflectance and Reradiation Distribution Functions
This paper extends the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) to account for cross-wavelength transfer, resulting in a bidirectional reradiation distribution function (BRRDF). The method acquires and analyzes reflectance and reradiation data of a variety of fluorescent materials, including vehicle paints, paper, and fabric, and compares their renderings to less expressive reflectance models.
Manifold Bootstrapping for SVBRDF Capture
Manifold bootstrapping is a new method for data-driven modeling of real-world, spatially varying reflectance, based on the idea that reflectance over a given material sample forms a low-dimensional manifold.
A Coaxial Optical Scanner for Synchronous Acquisition of 3D Geometry and Surface Reflectance
This novel optical setup and processing pipeline for measuring the 3D geometry and spatially varying surface reflectance of real-world objects use coaxial cameras and high-frequency sinusoidal illumination.
Smoothed Local Histogram Filters
Fast, efficient computation of image histograms, their integrals, and their derivatives, along with a method for controlling the over-sharpening tendency of histogram-based filters.
