Special Thanks & Acknowledgements
Imagine having the opportunity to be an integral part of the creation of the world's biggest conference in computer graphics and interactive techniques. As a Student Volunteer, you will go behind the scenes for an international event that draws thousands of people who share a passion for these advanced technologies, and you will meet and learn directly from industry professionals, artists, and teachers. The SIGGRAPH 2009 Student Volunteer Program is a unique opportunity for students to network their senses in the SIGGRAPH experience.
As a Student Volunteer, you will have admission to SIGGRAPH 2009's complete program, including Courses, Talks, Technical Papers, Panels, the SIGGRAPH Reception, and much more, plus many exclusive Student Volunteer events: résumé and portfolio reviews, presentations by industry heavyweights, and mentoring from the industry's stars. The most incredible part is several of these idols began their journey into stardom through the SIGGRAPH Student Volunteer Program.
All of this is available to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who are enrolled full time for at least one semester during the 2008-2009 school year and are at least 18 years of age.
Students can apply to volunteer for either 18 or 30 hours (approximately) during the conference. Volunteers who are willing to commit for at least 30 hours are eligible to apply for Travel Assistance Awards, which offer financial help for travel to and from the conference.
Also, extraordinary 30-hour applicants who live outside the new Orleans area may be selected to receive complimentary housing for the duration of the conference.
SIGGRAPH is the perfect place to showcase your work, research or passion in computer graphics. You can further experience, feel and live SIGGRAPH through its many submission pathways.
The Student Volunteers of today are the industry leaders of tomorrow. I encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity! Begin your contribution to the world of computer graphics as a SIGGRAPH 2009 Student Volunteer.
See you in New Orleans,
Nicolas Gonzalez
