Education: Call for Submissions
Educating the next generation of practitioners in computer graphics and interactive techniques is a great responsibility. SIGGRAPH 2009 is seeking presentations to support junior colleges and vocational institutes in that effort.
Presentations that describe potential curricula, provide teaching frameworks, or otherwise contribute to development of educators working in the field are actively sought for SIGGRAPH 2009. We hope to build a track of thematically coordinated sessions that will "teach the teacher" the latest techniques and describe methods to effectively convey those techniques.
SIGGRAPH 2009 invites presentation proposals: Courses, to present an established body of knowledge; Talks, to present accomplishments, case studies, or new ideas; moderated Panels; and Posters. All these programs welcome submissions by and for educators. See the individual program submission instructions for submission details. Submissions to these programs are due Wednesday, 18 February 2009. For work completed in the spring of 2009, Talks may be submitted by a special late-breaking deadline: Wednesday, 6 May 2009.
If you have any questions about the opportunities for presentation of work by and for educators, please contact us. And please help spread the word by forwarding this page to colleagues and associates who would be interested in participating in SIGGRAPH 2009.
