Unemployed Discount Registration

Because of the current economic situation, many people in our community find themselves currently unemployed, and so would have difficulty attending SIGGRAPH 2009. We believe that in these times it is especially important that members of the SIGGRAPH community continue to come together to make connections, provide mutual inspiration, and continue to look forward and help create the future. So we are extending our lowest possible registration rates, the same as Student Member rates, to unemployed members of our community who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.

Unemployed Discount Registration will be available on 15 June. To register, you must be a member of ACM or ACM SIGGRAPH and agree to the terms listed below.

Terms
The SIGGRAPH 2009 Unemployed Discount Program has been created to diminish the financial impact on individuals currently unemployed and interested in participating in SIGGRAPH 2009 but for whom registration fees are prohibitive. Eligible individuals receive discounted rates on conference registration; all other costs such as travel, lodging, and incidentals are not covered in this program and are the responsibility of the individual. SIGGRAPH 2009 reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual if his or her fraud or misconduct affects the integrity of this program. Any attempt by an individual or organization to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this program is disqualified. Should such an attempt be made, SIGGRAPH 2009 reserves the right to seek damages from any such individual or organization to the fullest extent permitted by law. You have read and understand all the terms and conditions. Your participation in this program warrants that an agreement was entered into in the State of Louisiana and shall be governed by the substantive laws of the State of Louisiana As a condition of participation in this program, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined. ACM and ACM SIGGRAPH policies, procedures, bylaws, and regulations apply. This program is subject to change and/or cancellation at the discretion of SIGGRAPH 2009.

Eligibility
Subject to additional restrictions, the Unemployed Discount will be granted to those individuals who are members in good standing of ACM or ACM SIGGRAPH and are currently unemployed and interested in participating in SIGGRAPH 2009. Consultants, and those self-employed, are not eligible for this program. Standard SIGGRAPH 2009 registration rules and regulations apply.
