Student Volunteers make a commitment to volunteer for a total of either 18 or 30 hours (approximately) between Sunday, 10 August 2008 and Friday, 15 August 2008.
All volunteers will receive a Conference Access badge (equivalent to Full Conference registration, excluding conference documentation). All volunteers who fulfill their commitment may also be eligible to receive a copy of the Conference Proceedings following the conference.
Volunteers who fulfill 30 hours or more and who do not live in the Los Angeles area are eligible for up to six nights of accommodation in conference housing. Housing is provided according to need. Up to four students of the same gender will be assigned to each room. Further information on housing will be provided upon acceptance as a Student Volunteer.
All volunteers are responsible for their own travel to and from Los Angeles, as well as their own meals during their time at the conference.
Some limited Travel Assistance awards and meal vouchers are available, though they are not guaranteed. When these awards are granted by the Student Volunteers Committee, they establish a maximum amount per recipient. After arriving in Los Angeles, Student Volunteers must meet their commitment to the program (either 18 or 30 hours) in order to receive the award, and to be eligible to receive tickets to events and receptions.
