International Resources

The goal of the International Resources program is to enhance SIGGRAPH 2007's multi-cultural flavour by encouraging the international community to submit their work and participate in all conference sessions, activities, and events.

Before, during, and after the conference, the International Resources Committee promotes computer graphics and interactive techniques worldwide, helps international contributors prepare and submit their work, and helps international attendees get the best experience they can from the conference.

The committee offers a broad range of services to make the international attendees' experience of SIGGRAPH 2007 as exciting and magical as it can be:
  • The English Review Service helps submitters improve their written English. A team of native English-speaking volunteers will read your proposed description of your work before you officially submit it and provide suggestions to enhance the legibility of the text (not content). Note: no guarantee of turnaround time is made concerning the English Review service. The earlier you submit your material for review, the higher the likelihood that the review service will complete its work before your program deadline.

  • Guided tours in different languages. Go to the International Center, choose a language, and enroll in one of the guided tours of the Art Gallery and Emerging Technologies.

  • The International Center. During the conference, the International Center is an active and thriving place. It will offer a range of activities for international attendees, so drop by the International Center often to make sure you are not missing out! The center also provides a comfortable and safe area to network and meet other attendees from around the world.

  • A team of volunteers is available to assist you at the International Center. Members of the International Resources Committee will answer questions from attendees, lend assistance to those who may wish to host meetings or informal gatherings for attendees from their countries or regions, and provide informal translation services.
We welcome any questions you might have, as well as any suggestions of what you might need from the International Resources Center that we don't presently provide. Contact the International Relations Coordinators if you need any more information or have any suggestions.

How Can You Help?
We would not be able to provide the high level of service we do without the good work of our International Resources Committee who volunteer their time. If you would like more detailed information on what being a committee member entails, then please fill out this online form.

If you are a student, you are invited to apply to be a SIGGRAPH 2007 Student Volunteer; we are always looking for students who are fluent in languages other than English to act as translators and guides. For complete information, see the Student Volunteers Call for Participation.
