Review and Upon Acceptance

Each course proposal is extensively reviewed between the submission deadline and the jury selection meeting. Course selection considers factors such as:

• Course proposal: description, abstract, syllabus, organization and flow, categorization, length, presentation history.
  
  
• Course content: material coverage, effectiveness, Course Notes, and supplementary materials.
  
  
• Audience interest level: appropriateness, overlap/best fit, educational value.
  
  
• Topical relevance
  
  
• Speaker expertise
  
  
• Courses program objectives: quality, depth, breadth, program balance, continuity, originality, schedule flexibility (course lengths), resources

Proposers should learn the results of the jury process by late February 2007. See Publication Dates for more information.

Upon Acceptance

The course organizer must collect and prepare:

• A final set of electronic course notes.
  
  
• Digital supplementary materials (for example, sample code, datasets, documentation, demos, animations, etc.)
  
  
• A final course timeline listing the topics and speakers in chronological order.

All material must be suitable for publication.

Before you submit your proposal, please make sure that all of your presenters have reviewed terms of the Acceptance Agreement. If your submission is selected by SIGGRAPH 2007, every speaker in your course must complete and send the Acceptance Agreement via fax or postal or courier service by the date specified in your acceptance notice. If we do not receive all presenter acceptance agreements, your course cannot be presented at the conference.

The SIGGRAPH 2007 Acceptance Agreement is a legal document. It explains the uses SIGGRAPH makes of presented material and requires all course contributors and presenters to acknowledge that they have permission to use the submitted material. This may involve seeking clearance from employers or others who own and have loaned the presenter material (such as any video or slides).

The agreement helps prevent situations whereby SIGGRAPH 2007 presentations include material without permission that might lead to complaints or even legal action.

In addition, the agreement asks if ACM SIGGRAPH may use your materials for conference and organization promotional material in exchange for full author/artist credit information (which you may decline).

Again, every presenter must submit a signed SIGGRAPH 2007 Acceptance Agreement (signature of parent or legal guardian is also required if contributor is under age 18). Presenters who fail to complete a signed form will not be allowed to present at the conference.
