There was a time when the thought of using a computer to make graphics move was revolutionary. For almost a decade, eight analog computers produced nearly all of the electronic animation seen on television.

This is the story of the pioneers who invented and programmed these Scanimate computers and created what has become a multi-billion-dollar industry.
