Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm ...
As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself,
the other for helping others.

Student Volunteer Application
SIGGRAPH 2005 represents a melting pot where science and art collide,
showcasing the latest creative works and technological advancements of the
largest and most diverse community of academics, industry professionals, and
artists in computer graphics and interactive techniques. The Student Volunteers
of today are the SIGGRAPH leaders of tomorrow.
The Student Volunteers program offers selected students the opportunity to
become an integral part of the annual SIGGRAPH conference. This invaluable
learning experience presents opportunities to meet and learn directly from
computer graphics industry professionals, teachers, and artists. Simultaneously,
Student Volunteers assist conference attendees and support conference programs and
events. SIGGRAPH 2005 Student Volunteers will also have admission to all programs,
receptions, and many special events.
All this and more is available to high school, undergraduate, and graduate
students who are enrolled full time for at least one semester during the 2004-2005
school year and are at least 18 years of age. As a volunteer, you'll be part of a
team of hundreds working to make the conference a success. Students can apply to work
either 17.5 or 30 hours (approximately) during the conference. The actual number of hours
could be above or below those approximations. Volunteers from outside the Los Angeles
area who are willing to work at least 30 hours may also receive complimentary housing
in Los Angeles for duration of the conference. In addition, all applicants are
eligible to apply for our
Travel Grant program,
which offers financial assistance to accepted Student Volunteers
to offset the costs of travel to and from the conference.
We are looking for reliable, hard-working, self-starting, independent,
enthusiastic students who are excited about SIGGRAPH 2005 and want to be a part
of the next generation of industry leaders. Become a part of the largest and most
diverse community in computer graphics and interactive techniques, and at the same
time work and explore at one of the greatest professional conferences in the world.
I look forward to welcoming you to Los Angeles and hope you will join us for a whole
new Student Volunteer experience at SIGGRAPH 2005!
