TRAVEL GRANTS

To encourage students to participate in computer graphics activities, SIGGRAPH 2005 offers Travel Grants for selected SIGGRAPH 2005 Student Volunteers. All grants will be awarded during SIGGRAPH 2005 and will be paid in United States currency. Travel grant applications are reviewed by a selection committee, and those who demonstrate the greatest need are selected. All decisions of the selection committee are final.

Travel Grant applicants must first complete the standard Student Volunteer or Team Leader application. Before submitting an application, grant applicants must answer several additional questions regarding travel costs and personal financial need, and complete one additional personal statement of no more than 300 words, as described in the application.

For SIGGRAPH 2005, Travel Grant awards will be handled by granting eligibility up to a maximum amount, per person. This amount, in all likelihood, will not cover all of your travel expenses; it is only meant to help reduce the cost of your travel. After arriving in Los Angeles, Student Volunteers must a) meet their commitments to the program (approximately either 17.5 or 30 hours) and b) receive good peformance evaluations, in order to:
  • Collect their travel grants
  • Be eligible for tickets to events
  • Be eligible for tickets to the Electronic Theater
In order to receive a travel grant, you must bring your original receipt for your travel cost: flight cost with itinerary and flight ticket stubs. No awarded travel grant amount will exceed the cost of your travel under any circumstances.
