Though most submission requirements and procedures are the same as last year,
there are a few noteworthy changes for the SIGGRAPH 2005 Computer Animation Festival.
DVD Submissions
Last year, for the first time, the Computer Animation Festival accepted DVD submissions for jury review.
We will continue to do so, but to improve the jury process, we will require that all DVD submissions
use a standard interface. See the Submission Procedure Checklist for details.
Real-Time Submissions
We are encouraging and accepting real-time submissions for both the SIGGRAPH 2005 Computer Animation
Festival and SIGGRAPH 2005 Emerging Technologies. If your real-time animation requires interaction,
we suggest you submit through Emerging Technologies. If you can package your animation as a pre-recorded
short film, the Computer Animation Festival is probably your best choice.
Digital Presentation
Both the Electronic Theater and Animation Theater will be presented digitally, using the latest digital-cinema
technology. There will be no film or videotape in either venue.
New Display Technologies
Through a joint effort with Emerging Technologies, we are investigating new display technologies such as
very-high-resolution digital projection and full-dome projection. Please check back here periodically to see
what we have in store and for details on submitting material.
Please refer to the Submission Procedure Checklist
for detailed submission information and the Frequently Asked Questions
for answers to common submission questions.
Remember, the show cannot go on without your work.
