Short animated films as an art form and the critical skills required for viewing and evaluating them. Presenters show films, explore their backgrounds, and demonstrate the success or failure of the films' expressiveness by examining how medium and technique are used to further the artists' intentions.
Prerequisite
An open mind.
Topics
Cartoon, experimental narrative, and abstract animations that use cel, drawing on paper, paint on glass, drawing on film, pinscreen, and computer-generated animation. How technique, medium, and style contribute to the success of the film.
