New terms and concepts for understanding cultural dimensions (power distance, individualism/collectivism, masculinity/femininity, uncertainty avoidance, and long-term orientation) and their relationship to design of user-interface components (metaphors, mental models, navigation, interaction, and appearance). This course is designed for user-interface and information-visualization designers, software developers, human-factors specialists, cognitive scientists, technical documentation specialists, teachers, and researchers.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of user-interface design.
