[Changes for SIGGRAPH 2003]
Like all conferences and trade shows, the annual SIGGRAPH conference must adapt to changing attendee expectations, increasing submissions, and adverse economic conditions. To deliver a better attendee experience within current financial resources, SIGGRAPH 2003 features the following changes from recent years:
Sunday Through Thursday
Freeing up Friday for travel benefits attendees and the conference. The conference begins with a full day on Sunday, providing a full five-day schedule.
Papers Begin on Monday
For many years, Papers were presented Wednesday through Friday. Because of the record number of submissions to SIGGRAPH 2003, and to reduce the need to schedule concurrent sessions, this year Papers begin on Monday and extend over four days.
Panels Take a Year Off
When we compared Panels to the other conference programs, we decided to suspend them for this year so the program can be re-evaluated. Panels will return in 2004. For SIGGRAPH 2003, if you want to hear some enlightening discussions, don't miss Special Sessions!
Career Center and Job Fair
Although the Career Center and the Job Fair have been popular features of the conference, many companies are no longer willing to send additional staff for recruiting. As a result, these programs will not be on the schedule for SIGGRAPH 2003.
All these publications are available in the SIGGRAPH 2003 store.
