The
SIGGRAPH conference is the world's annual celebration
of the latest research advances, demonstrated applications,
and freedom of expression within the disciplines of computer
graphics and interactive techniques. Each year's gathering
draws people from diverse fields of study and commercial
ventures to discuss, share, and debate in an amazing technical
and educational event that often defies definition.
This Call for Participation is your guidebook to deciding
how you can directly contribute to and participate with
other members of this ever-expanding technical, artistic,
and commercial community, and share your creative processes.
The SIGGRAPH 2002 committee has laid a foundation for
the format and styles of presentation to be shared at
the next confluence of these disciplines in San Antonio,
Texas, USA in July 2002. Based on this foundation, the
committee invites you to define the cutting graphic and
interactive edges in science, art, medicine, entertainment,
communications, education, and other areas of interest
in order to build the next international celebration.
Whether you are a veteran or novice contributor, please
take a few moments to read about each of the programs
and get a sense of their styles and formats. Many programs
are evolving and may have changed, and some are new to
the SIGGRAPH conference. Then, review the submission requirements
for the programs that interest you and get the necessary
information on how to submit your work.
SIGGRAPH is a conference of amazing individuals contributing
outstanding work by sharing thoughts, ideas, and information
with a dedicated and appreciative audience. It needs people
like you to join us in inspiring those who work, play,
and live with the latest advancements in computer graphics
and interactive techniques.
