23: Motion Dynamics Animation Workshop

Monday, Half Day, 1:30 - 5 pm
Location: CAL
This
hands-on workshop introduces animators to the principles
and techniques of motion-dynamics animation. Participants
use workstations running Maya to understand the principles
and apply them to a short animation project. A team of
experienced animation assistants provides assistance.
Prerequisites
Familiarity with the basic concepts and practice of 3D
computer animation. Experience with motion dynamics or
Maya software is not required.
Topics
The principles and practice of motion-dynamics simulations.
Physical properties of objects, forces, collisions, rigid
bodies and soft bodies, springs, and goal objects. Playback
issues. Combining keyframed animation with motion-dynamics
simulations.
