The role of the International Committee is to make the SIGGRAPH 2001 experience as exciting and magical as it can be for all participants, no matter which country they come from. To do so, we rely on volunteers to help with specific tasks both before and during the conference.
Prior to the conference:
- Native English-speaking volunteers make the conference
more accessible to potential international contributors
by reading proposed contributions before they are officially
submitted and providing editorial comments and suggestions
for improving the readability of the text in English.
- Volunteers who speak a wide variety of languages help
with international attendees' needs through an email list
set up for this service at international-s2001@siggraph.org.
- Volunteers living outside the United States actively
participate in computer graphics-related events throughout
the world to promote the SIGGRAPH conference.
During the conference itself, International Committee volunteers play a very active role at the International Resources Center, where they provide a range of services specifically designed to assist international participants.
If you would like to be one of these volunteers and help make the SIGGRAPH 2001 conference a truly international experience, visit the International Resources Center at SIGGRAPH 2001 to pick up an application, or fill out the online application.
