LECTURE

Marty Sixkiller lectured a group of approximately thirty-five math, science, and art teachers from around the greater New Orleans area on how to integrate computer graphics and animation into the classroom. The lecture was held at the New Orleans Museum of Art on Friday, February 11th, as part of the SIGGRAPH Community Outreach program. He showed clips from the movie ANTZ and a behind-the-scenes view of how many of the special effects were created for the feature-length film. Many of these techniques can be found on the ANTZ website, which is http://www.ANTZ.com. Sixkiller also let those attending the lecture in on a little secret; the voice heard saying, "Sound Off," when the "antz" are about to go into battle is none other than his own voice. Lecture attendants were also informed of the new and upcoming animated PDI film undergoing production called SHREK. The film stars the voices of such celebrities as Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers, and Eddie Murphy.
