Be a Volunteer and Get out the Vote!

Every year literally thousands of people all over the world make their plans to attend the ACM SIGGRAPH conference, but the planning for the conference is more than making travel arrangements and buying a conference pass. Without the efforts of active members who volunteer their time and efforts, this annual event would not be. It takes a huge organization led by a select group of dedicated individuals to see it through by getting involved.

This special edition of "Computer Graphics" is a stripped down no-frills version of the e-quarterly, focusing on action items that are crucial to the life blood of the ACM SIGGRAPH organization, presenting the new candidates interested in taking up the torch and moving forward by supporting the success of their predecessors and ensuring the further improvement of ACM SIGGRAPH activities - everywhere.

However, it isn't just about the elected positions and the conference itself, but about acivities the conference supports that you can volunteer for, such as the new SIGGRAPH Student Services Mini-CFP that Jim Kilmer, our Director at Large, writes about in his call for student volunteers.

So please, read and learn learn about the candidates and the volunteer opportunities, but don't stop there. Get actively involved by offering your services as a volunteer and cast your vote. This organization depends on your action.
