As I write this, SIGGRAPH’s 25th conference is fast approaching. Carl Machover has succeeded in gathering a collection of fascinating focus articles for us which document the history, the events, the people and the fun!
For those of you reading this in Orlando, I highly recommend that you check out the various exhibits and events tied to the celebration. Even if you don’t make the big event, or if you receive this issue post-SIGGRAPH 98, then we still have plenty for you to enjoy.
My thanks to Carl, Lynn and the columnists for pulling together to get this issue out a month early, and a big “congratulations” to Karen Sullivan, the cover editor, who celebrated the arrival of her first child.
