Educators Program Chair
The Educators Program chair compiles a program exploring issues and innovative uses of computer graphics and interactive techniques in education, including programming about the teaching of computer graphics and interactive techniques. The chair may curate presentations, as well as recruit and supervise a jury. The chair interacts with contributors on formats, timing and other requirements, and manages on-site seminars.
Overview
The SIGGRAPH Educators Program Chair is responsible for the planning, selection process, and implementation of the annual conference Educators Program. The Educators Program Chair works closely with the Conference Chair, the Chief Staff Executive (CSE), volunteers, and contractors to produce an interesting and successful Educators Program.

Specific Responsibilities
The following list is a "high-level" view of the specific responsibilities associated with serving as a Educators Program Chair. The list is organized under general categories of responsibility.
Strategic
- Participate in strategic planning for the SIGGRAPH Conference
- Create a strategic direction for the Educators Program including technical focus, emphasis areas, and new initiatives
Management
- Recruit and manage a subcommittee to assist in administering the Educators Program
- Organize and implement a thorough Educators Program review process
- Recruit and supervise an Educators Program jury
- Provide information to accepted authors regarding formatting, timing, and requirements
- Work with the subcommittee to create a presentation schedule for the Educators Program
- Work with contractors to ensure on-site presentation facilities are appropriate
- Manage the on-site implementation of the Educators Program
Financial
- Work with the Conference Chair and CSE to prepare preliminary and final budgets for the Educators Program
- Manage the Educators Program budget
Publications
- Develop the Educators Program section of the Call for Participation
- Review copies of promotional materials and publications to ensure accurate information
- Assist the Publications Chair in the collection of electronic versions of accepted presentations for both printed and CD-ROM publication
Communication
- Report regularly to the Conference Chair and CSE on the status of the Educators Program
- Facilitate and participate in timely communication with the subcommittee, reviewers, jury, and contributors to provide direction and solve problems
- Produce a final report by the wrapup meeting (October) describing the Educators Program, changes from previous years, and lessons learned
Meetings
- Attend and participate in all conference committees meetings
- Organize and implement an effective jury meeting to select a wide variety of presentations for the Educators Program
