SIGGRAPH Asia continues its tradition to present the best in computer graphics and animation techniques to a worldwide audience from 15 – 18 Dec 2010 the Coex Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Korea. Set to inspire computer graphics and interactive media professionals and enthusiasts, the third edition of SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 promises to showcase a line-up of never-before-seen works that will raise the benchmark in digital creativity. SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 will feature four exciting programs, namely, Computer Animation Festival, Courses, Technical Papers, Technical Sketches & Posters as well as a Trade Exhibition.

This year’s Technical Papers program will focus on peer-reviewed research in fluid, character and crowd animation, sampling and filtering, geometric and volumetric reconstruction, modeling and rendering, computational imaging and video and imaging hardware. 50 papers were finally selected to be presented this year. They will be published in the December 2010 issue of ACM Transactions on Graphics in early December 2010. 30 Courses Programs will add greater diversity to the range of topics this year with presenters from Blizzard Entertainment, Pixar Animation Studios, Industrial Light & Magic, Microsoft & Microsoft Game Studios, NVIDIA, ARM, Google, Weta Digital, Disney Imagineering, KAIST, MIT Media Lab, Jeju National University, and Seoul National University. Selected Courses sessions will be conducted in Korean to cater to the local community.

The second featured speaker, Mr. Jae-Dong Park shares how humorous illustrations and comics may be turned into animation. Hailed for his outstanding contributions to the video game industry, Hyung-tae Kim is a Korean artist whose great talent lies behind the art creation in games such as the Magna Carta series and War of Genesis: Tempest to name a few.
