Mark Your Calendar! SIGGRAPH 2010 Award Talks
On Monday, July 26, at 2:00 pm. Award Recipients Alexei Efors, Jessica Hodgins, Yoichiro Kawaguchi and Kellogg S. Booth will deliver a talk on their work, their influences and the circumstances that lead to their outstanding contributions to the field. These talks are a must-see event at SIGGRAPH. However, if you can't make it in person, watch them online at SIGGRAPH Encore, http://encore.siggraph.org within two months after the conference, or on the ACM SIGGRAPH Digital Library. The award winners will be presented with their awards at the SIGGRAPH 2010 Keynote Presentation on Monday, July 26, at 11:00 am.

Significant New Researcher Award
Alexei Efros
The Significant New Researcher Award is awarded annually to a researcher who has made a recent significant contribution to the field of computer graphics and is new to the field. The intent is to recognize people very early in their career who have already made a notable contribution and are likely to make more. ACM SIGGRAPH is proud to recognize Alexei Efros for his pioneering contributions at the intersection of computer graphics and computer vision, especially in texture synthesis and in leveraging huge image databases.
Computer Graphics Achievement Award
Jessica Hodgins
The Computer Graphics Achievement Award is given each year to recognize an individual for outstanding long-lasting achievements in computer graphics and interactive techniques. ACM SIGGRAPH is pleased to present this award to Jessica Hodgins for her work in physically-based animation, particularly the simulation and animation of people and other creatures.
Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in Digital Art
Yoichiro Kawaguchi
The Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in Digital Art is give annually to recognize the important contributions of practicing digital artists in this evolving field. ACM SIGGRAPH recognizes Yoichiro Kawaguchi for his creative and innovative artistry, giving life to a stunning aesthetic derived from his dedicated research in computer technology, biological forms, and contemporary artistic practice.
Outstanding Service Award
Kellogg S. Booth
The Outstanding Service Award is awarded to recognize a career of outstanding service to ACM SIGGRAPH by a volunteer. It recognizes an individual who has given extraordinary service to ACM SIGGRAPH, both in the trenches and in positions of more responsibility or visibility, over a significant period of time. ACM SIGGRAPH is happy to recognize Kellogg S. Booth for his contributions to the organization, its conferences, and its tradition of scholarship.
